Hellam Township does street sweeping on an as-needed basis, using a third part contractor, based on the condition of winter weather and the use of cinders throughout the season.

What are the Public Works’ seasonal services?

Seasonal duties consist of:
Road side mowing
Pipe replacements
Paving
Pot hole repair
Snow plowing
Line painting

What’s the difference between state and township roads?

Hellam Township consists of State roads, Township roads and Private roads.
Hellam township only maintains township roads. Private roads are easily known to be private by the blue color of the road sign. Township roads are identified with green signs that contain the township logo.
